Nathan Mitchell

Goalkeeper

Some goalkeepers like to stay on their line and play it safe. Nathan Mitchell isn’t one of them. Whether it’s rushing out to shut down an attack or putting his body on the line to stop a shot, he plays the position with aggression and confidence—a fearless presence between the sticks for Wagga City Wanderers.

Born and raised in Wagga Wagga, Nate Mit has been playing football since he was five years old. He originally started as a defender before making the switch to goalkeeper, where he’s made a name for himself as a commanding presence in the box. Now entering his third year with the Wanderers, he arrived at the club after playing for Tolland FC and his school team.

Ask him about his proudest football moment, and he’ll humbly say he doesn’t know. Ask his teammates, though, and they’ll tell you it’s probably one of the many times he’s thrown himself into a 1v1 challenge to save a goal—because if there’s one thing about Nate Mit, it’s that he’s never afraid to put his body on the line for the team.

His playing style? Aggressive, high off his line, and always ready to sweep up danger. He’s not about flashy footwork or fancy saves—he’s about getting the job done, no matter what it takes.

Off the pitch, he works as a welder, balancing long hours with gym sessions and regular jogs to keep himself in peak condition. His pre-game and training ritual? Simple—he prays before every match and training session. His pump-up song of choice? “UP!” by Forrest Frank and Connor Price—fitting for someone always looking to elevate his game.

And his goals? Keep improving, keep grinding, and become the best goalkeeper and teammate he can be. With his mindset, work ethic, and fearless style of play, there’s no doubt he’s on the right path.
