Established in 2014, Built for the Future

Wagga City Wanderers was founded in October 2014 under Football Wagga to grow the game in Wagga Wagga, the Riverina, and surrounding regions. The club first competed in the NSW State League before transitioning to the National Premier League (NPL) under Capital Football in the ACT.

Since then, Wagga City Wanderers has built strong relationships with Football NSW, Capital Football, Football Wagga, business partners, local clubs, and the wider community. More importantly, we have focused on developing our players both on and off the field, instilling a strong sense of community and sportsmanship.

Growth and Achievements

The club initially fielded a Men’s First Grade and Under 20s team. Over the years, we have expanded to include:

• Men’s and Women’s First Grade teams
• Under 23s Men and Reserve Grade Women
• Youth pathways for boys and girls from U13s to U18s
• The Wanderers Academy, featuring SAP (9-12 years) and Junior teams (U13-U16) competing in state competitions and gala days

2019 was a milestone year, marking the club’s first silverware with the Men’s Under 23s winning the Premiership Trophy. In 2020, despite a COVID-interrupted season, the Under 23s defended their title, and the First Grade Men secured their maiden Premiership.

Commitment to Women’s Football

Women’s football has been a major focus for the club since the introduction of the female pathway in 2019. This program has continued to grow, providing a structured pathway for female players to develop and compete at higher levels.

Home Grounds & Future Vision

Wagga City Wanderers proudly hosts Capital Football teams at Gissing Oval and Rawlings Park, creating a strong home base for our players, supporters, and the local football community.
