Some players rely on finesse, others on skill—Cooper Mills brings physicality and toughness to the pitch. Whether he’s locking down the midfield or standing strong in the backline, he’s the kind of player who thrives on big tackles, defensive battles, and doing the dirty work for the team.
Born and raised in Wagga Wagga, Cooper first got into football at school before following his mates into the game. Now, five years into his time with Wagga City Wanderers, he’s made a name for himself as a center-back or center-mid, giving the team some much-needed grit in both roles. Before joining the Wanderers, he played for Henwood Park and Wagga United, building his game before stepping up to the next level.
His proudest football moments? Making the finals in last year’s CPL tournament and winning the CBFC Cup—proof that he’s played a big part in the club’s success.
When asked about his playing style, he keeps it simple: physical and aggressive. His biggest strength? Slide tackling. If you’re coming up against him, expect to leave the pitch knowing you’ve been in a battle.
No signature celebrations, just getting the job done. But when it comes to pre-game routines, music is a must—mostly rap, whatever gets the energy up.
Outside of football, video games, hanging out with mates, and going out take up most of his time (but school? Not a fan.). His pump-up music? Same as what’s playing in the locker room—whatever sets the mood before kickoff.
And his football ambitions? Winning finals, playing well, and hopefully breaking into an academy or A-League team in the future. No overcomplicated plans—just hard work, big tackles, and a mindset focused on success.
With his tough tackling, physicality, and commitment to the game, expect Cooper to be a crucial part of any team he plays for—and a nightmare for any attacker trying to get past him.
