Football Wagga & Wagga City Wanderers Skills Acquisition Program (SAP)

The Football Wagga & Wagga City Wanderers Skills Acquisition Program (SAP) is a structured and professionally delivered development pathway designed for young footballers eager to refine their skills and enhance their understanding of the game.

The program is open to boys and girls aged 8 to 12 years who are committed to improving their technical ability and preparing for higher levels of competition. SAP provides an engaging and supportive environment where players receive expert coaching tailored to their individual growth.

Program Structure

  • Duration: The program runs for 34 weeks across school terms, ensuring consistent development and learning opportunities.
  • Training Sessions: Sessions are held every Friday evening at Gissing Oval and Rawling Park
  • Competitions: Players have the opportunity to represent Football Wagga at local gala days, regional tournaments, and the prestigious Kanga Cup in Canberra, gaining valuable match experience against high-level opposition.

Coaching & Development

The SAP program is led by highly skilled and accredited coaches who follow Football Australia’s development framework. Their focus is on technical excellence, game intelligence, and player confidence, ensuring participants have the best chance to transition into the Wagga City Wanderers Academy and beyond.

Trial Information

Trials for the SAP program are conducted in November each year for the following year’s intake. This selection process allows new players to showcase their abilities and join a dynamic training environment designed to help them thrive.
